IEEE Greencom’11 Scheduled
August 8, 2011

The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) will hold the first annual IEEE Online Conference on Green Communications (GreenCom) totally online from September 26 – 29, 2011. During the four-day, fully-virtual event, leading international experts in energy-efficient communications and green technologies will highlight the latest networking, energy management and smart grid communications in an effort to greatly advance the introduction of the newest global greenhouse gas emission and energy consumption reduction solutions.

Throughout the conference, speakers representing Ericsson, Samsung, INRIA, IMEDA Networks, Create-Net, Telecom ParisTech, Royal Institute of Technology, Dresden University of Technology, Tohoku University, Politecnico di Italy and the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications will host consecutive sessions in a state-of-the-art online conferencing environment designed to facilitate live presentations and question answering in real-time. Webcast internationally and then published at IEEE Xplore, IEEE GreenCom’11 will address wide reaching global warming topics ranging from Smart Grid architecture modeling, dynamic pricing and demand response scheduling to demand shaping green communications, energy-efficient power control and home energy management.

In addition, IEEE Greencom’11 was specifically prepared by IEEE ComSoc to discuss global warming and energy efficiency developments and alternatives within a powerful ecological conferencing format. This includes providing international audiences with the ability to participate in near-physical experiences without travel and from the comfort of their own home and/or work environments.

All interested participants are urged to visit for ongoing updates, registration information and/or to network with colleagues or other attendees via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn. Additional conference details can be received by emailing Heather Ann Sweeney of the IEEE Communications Society at
